Hey Mamas! I am lucky to call myself mom to a lively, gravity defying, adventure seeking, and FUN little girl. I have developed this list because I find that when I get together with other parents at various play groups or events, the topic of what I do with my kiddo in the area inevitably comes up. I enjoy getting out of the house with my daughter, watching her learn makes me crazy happy, and I deeply love exploring the WORLD with her.
This list is made up events, locations, or specific meet ups that my daughter and I have been to and that we BOTH enjoyed. If I have been to it and didn’t like it (a.k.a. wouldn’t go back), then it simply doesn’t make the list and doesn’t get a Three Happy Turtles stamp of approval. So in the end, this is just my opinion based on the experiences she and I had at each location.
The list is in alphabetical order to make it easy for searching. If you have something you would like me to check out, please email me at audrey@threehappyturtles.com and I will be happy to attend with my kiddo!
Turtle Approved and Loved:
Al!VE: Grow
800 W Lawrence Ave, Charlotte, MI 48813
Al!ve is a well thought out community center. You can walk the indoor track or outdoor trails for free. They have drop in day care (you can’t leave the site) for 2 hours for just a few bucks.
Enjoy the cafe, take a cool class, or walk the track to get some movement in. My daughter loves the climbing structure in the kids area (which is called Grow). Absolutely worth visiting!
Impression 5 Science Center
200 Museum Drive, Lansing, MI 48813
Hands on science museum! Age focus is birth to 12 year olds, though I had tons of fun as an adult too.
Hands on exhibits and educational programing are all focused on playing, creating new things, and challenging yourself to learn.
We’ve had a membership since our daughter was a baby. A must visit for the Lansing area!
Preuss Pets
1127 N. Cedar St, Lansing, MI 48906
A pet store with a purpose! Yes, this is a store, but it is the coolest store to walk through. They have all kinds of fish and various other four legged and winged animals to enjoy looking at.
It is part store and part mini zoo with really neat critters!
